What if I am not good on computers?
Don't worry. This is also not a strength of mine and I have created this program for designers who are typically more right brained creative thinkers. Everything is broken down as simple as I can make it into it's simplest form. We use Adobe Illustrator, but just the basics, enough to do what you need to do to build good tech packs and have technical sketches to use for your pattern maker and manufacture. We use programs like Google Drive, Sheets, Drobbox, Shopify, Canva, and Flodesk or Kit for emails. You will get a basic training in these programs so that you can stay organized, thrive, and sell.
What if I can't sketch?
You don't need to know how to sketch to be a fabulous designer. I will teach you the basics you need for your tech pack sketches. They can be simple sketches that communicate the details you need for your pattern maker and manufacturer. You don't have to have beautiful drawings of your designs, you just need to know how to communicate with your pattern maker and give him/her the details they need to create what you need. Then, once you have your first prototype in your hands, you will do fittings and learn how to make the proper adjustments to get the fit right on your body form so you have a quality product to sell.
Isn't starting a clothing company really expensive? What if I don't have a capital investment?
The beauty of my program is that I started my company without any working capital and previous debt. I know how to do things on a shoestring because I had to bootstrap things myself.
